History

Just 4 Fun Motorsports LLC was started in 2002 by Charlie Copsey and Curtis McNeil. Our shop technicians have an average of 18 years of experience in the vehicle repair and 4 wheel drive industry specializing in off road vehicles.We have a commitment to producing the best vehicles around. No cutting corners, no “good enough” solutions. We build for the worst case scenario.

Military Projects

Because of their offroad experience and vehicle building knowledge; Charlie and Curtis were asked to design and build prototype vehicles for the US Army in 2005. Three exceptional prototype vehicles we designed, built and deployed to Afghanistan for field testing. With the success of these prototypes, they were involved in the build and deployment of several additional vehicles to the special forces in Afghanistan.

Additional projects included building vehicles with and for some of the elite vehicle and support suppliers to the US Army. These vendors included:

• Oshkosh Truck
• Northrup Gruman
• L3 communications
• Stewart and Stevenson
• BAE

During this time Charlie and Curtis were also involved in training and support of these vehicles. Including some time spent in Afghanistan supporting and training our troops.

The Founders

Curtis McNeil

Curtis McNeil Has been building custom vehicles since his high School days starting with his 64 Chev. While still in school, Curtis started working for Mepco Jeep eventually becoming the shop manager. He then went on to work for Teraflex in Research and development. Curtis eventually decided it was time for him to start his own shop. That is when he teamed up with Charlie to start Just 4 Fun Motorsports. Curtis has also been involved in countless competitions starting when UROC was pioneering the sport of rock crawling. He fast became a crowd favorite with his full throttle, high risk high reward styling of driving. Curtis is married with 2 kids. The family all enjoys the outdoors and offroading as a family.

Charlie Copsey

While still in high school, Charlie was working in a family owned Transmission shop. He then went on to become a GM master and ASE certified master Technician. He caught the offraod bug in the early 90’s eventually starting a small offroad shop. When Mepco Jeep decided to open a repair facility they asked him to help them get it going. This is where Curtis and Charlie first met and formed a friendship. A Few years later a partnership sated when they opened Just 4 Fun Motorsports. Charlie has been active in the offroad world for many years including competeing in ARCA. He is married and has 3 kids and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys getting out in his jeep with friends and family every chance he gets.
